Cheras is home to Taylor's International School at Taman Maluri, one of the more affordable Cambridge IGCSE options in Kuala Lumpur — but even the value-tier international-school fee is a monthly commitment, on top of the daily drive. Dreamtime Learning gives Cheras families the same Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, examined by the same board, taught live by qualified teachers, in batches of 10 or fewer — from home, without the international-school invoice.

A typical week for a Cheras homeschool family
Live classes run mornings (Primary 9:10am–1:00pm, Secondary 8:30am–1:05pm MYT), which leaves afternoons free for whatever suits your child — swimming or sport, tuition in a weaker subject, music, or a relaxed afternoon at Sunway Velocity, MyTOWN or Cheras Leisure Mall. Without a fixed 3:30pm pickup and a second run through Jalan Cheras, the afternoon is yours to plan around the family, not the school run. Many Cheras families put those recovered hours straight into an activity close to home or an extra session in a subject that needs it.
Cambridge-affiliated, not "inspired by"
Dreamtime Learning Asia is a registered Cambridge examination center. Your child sits real IGCSE and A Level papers, not a locally-branded equivalent — the certificate is recognised for university admission in Malaysia and internationally.
Is homeschooling legal for my Cheras family?
Yes. Under Section 135(1) of the Education Act 1996, Malaysian children aged 6–12 are required to be enrolled in primary school unless the parent obtains an exemption from the State Education Department (JPN), forwarded to the Ministry of Education for approval — a process that typically takes 4–8 weeks and requires a written curriculum plan, which Dreamtime provides as part of enrolment. Secondary-level homeschooling has more flexibility under the same Act. Non-citizen and expatriate families in Cheras are generally not subject to this requirement.
